Bridges Recap - Part 4 - 2018

Quite the year for a series!  If I counted correctly, it looks like I listened to at least one book from 10 different series's.  I didn't start and/or finish all 10 this year, but wait time to check out a book often means I have a while before I can get the next one anyway.  If you missed my last first post of the series with an explanation of Bridges, my discussion of audiobook options, and how I have chosen a lot of the books I've listened to, check out Bridges Recap - Part 1 - Audiobooks.  The first actual book log post is Bridges Recap - Part 2 - 2016.  I am listing all the books in my record from Bridges, which I need to do quickly!  Bridges looks like it will be completely discontinued May 1st.  This is mostly a book log for me.  It doesn't mean I liked or didn't like the book if it's listed or linked.  Most links are from Bookshop.org, which I am currently an affiliate.

Going through this year's book list was confusing.  For a while, I couldn't figure out why so many books were repeated or listened to out of order.  I realized, this was a year a resigned from a stressful job and started a new job.  Starting a new teaching job is always stressful, so I had a lot of nights where I was working, and woke up the next morning with my books still playing.  I hadn't figured out the updated timer yet.  It got difficult and annoying to go back and figure out where I'd been, so I'd just finish the book.  Then, I'd put it right back on the list to read again.  This happened with at least A Swiftly Tilting Planet, Quidditch Through the Ages, and Devil in the White City.

Some series were also listened to out of order because at the time anyway, some series's I was listening to only had random audiobooks from the series and were missing sporadic books.  This happened with The Lord of the Rings books, the Time Quartet Books, and Rizzoli and Isles books.  The Lord of the Rings I had been surprised by, but I think it's just my 'library' didn't have access to some books yet.

My favorite books I remember liking a lot, but I honestly only remember specific details from Mr. Churchill's Secret Agent.  The other three, I don't necessarily remember specific details from because Anne of Greene Gables series and the Robert Langdon Series books, I don't remember which plot points are in which books.  For the Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, I don't remember if details I know are from that book or from other podcasts I also listened to about Henrietta Lacks and HeLa cells.  I frequently forget details or important plot points in general, so re-listening to a book is something that works well for me.  I often am surprised by an ending.....that I've already heard or read before.
