Our 5 Books Most Loved Toddler Books That Are Barely Holding On

Is there any other more obvious way that a book has been well loved, than large amounts of tape holding the spine together?

Photo of Our Copies

The 5 books our toddler loves SO much, they're mostly held together by tape.

Our much loved copy that no longer plays music,
and you can see the entire spine needs retaped again....

The classic song in book form!  It plays the song and has tactile sections on each page.

Our copy with tape barely
holding every page inside.

The Kids Picture Show: Vehicles

by: Chieri DeGregorio

A Youtube channel turned their videos into a book!   This book expanded Baby Guy's vocabulary faster than any other book had before.  It's also the first time he started transferring information from a book into the real world so frequently and accurately.  We got ours on Pango, so it came to us lightly used.

Richard Scarry's Cars and Trucks from A to Z

by: Richard Scarry

With the classic Richard Scarry Illustrations, the book takes you through the alphabet with some real and...less real vehicles.  This book has been SO loved, it's taped together, and it's our second copy of the book!  The origiinal was well loeved from the time he could hold a book before has 1st b-day to it falling apart when he turned--yet another--page a year later.

Eric Carle: Hear Bear Roar

by: Eric Carle

The series and style annoy me, but Baby Guy LOVES pressing the animal sound buttons and being a part of reading the book.  After he's in bed, I sometimes hear him sneak over to his bookshelf, get the book, turn pages, and press the animal sound buttons.  It's alarming if I don't hear any of the warning sounds over the monitor until the button pressing.

Our copies of the two I can find....

John Deere Kids Tractor Tales: Cow & Duck, Pig & Dog, Horse & Cat

by: Jack Redwing

This is a three book combo honorary mention because, while the books are intact, the tractor has long since fallen apart.  Before Baby Guy took any interest in his toy vehicles, he preferred the tractor that contained these three books.  These were some of the first books he'd request, where he started saying animal names, and the first instances of identifying objects in pictures--tractors, the cat, flowers, etc.
