Never Touch a Dinosaur! | Board Book Review

Never Touch a Dinosaur! was one of our first "Never Touch" books.  The texture on the cover made of silicone is one of my favorite cover textures in these books.  Clearly, Baby Guy enjoys the book because he just grabbed it while I was attempting to take a picture.  

Synopsis

The rhyming, dinosaur themed book has silicone textures on each page.  The sensory elements and goofy rhymes are great for the recommended age of 0+.

Likes

• O+ age recommendation!  
• The silicone textures are engaging from a young age.
• The rhyming pattern is predictable on each page, which helps young learners learn this important skill.
• Easy to turn pages for little fingers.

Dislikes

• The page rhyming claws/doors doesn't work with my accent because I read 'aw' as having the short /o/ sound.  
• The first, middle, and last pages have a similar ribbed patterns that aren't as engaging if the reader isn't into those patterns.

Baby Guy Approval 

👏👏👏👏

On a scale of 0 to 5 Baby Guy claps, this would have to be 4 Baby Guy Claps!  He clearly likes it because as he just walked by with his dad, he took the book off the table, and sat down to read it.  The first, middle, and last pages with the similar pattern weren't interesting to him until recently.  At first, he mostly liked the front cover, turning the pages, and our goofy reading voices.  Now, he will also sit and feel each page on his own before turning the page, or go back to his favorite.  Recently, he's had a different favorite page each time.
