On Your Way to Talking-Animal Sounds Books

I was surprised to learn the importance of learning animal sounds on language development.  We hadn't received any of these books under my specific request for animal sound books, but I'd given the Jimmy Fallon book to my husband on his first Father's Day, when our son was about a month old.  The "Hi" book was from a KiwiCo book, which is where I learned the importance of animal sounds on language development.  Subscribing to KiwiCo was important to me to help with the early childhood development, since these were areas we weren't as familiar with.  My husband his a middle school and high school teacher, and I'm an elementary and middle school teacher.  We have a lot of knowledge and skills relating to children of those ages, but we don't have any for children under 5 years old.  The 'owl book,' as our son calls it, was a book from his pediatrician's office at the end of an appointment.

Animal Sounds

An early book we got from Baby Guy's pediatrition.  Fun animal book that keeps attention and is short.  Plus, it's written in phrases and not just the animal's sounds, which helps with development.  (Couldn't find the book we own online, but this one seemed the most similar.)

Your Baby's First Word Will Be DADA

Love Jimmy...weird book.  But the animal sounds are still helpful with language development.

Hi!  A Rhyming Animal Sounds Book

An interesting way to incorporate rhyming!  Rhyming has become a skill that's more commonly lacking when students start school, with the broader variety of books available to young readers.
